The One Water for All Initiative

At Cobalt Water Global, we not only believe everyone has a right to clean water, but also that everyone has a role to play in ensuring the safety and proper use of this precious resource. On World Water Day 2017, we launched the One Water for All initiative. The One Water perspective, becoming more and more prominent in the water sector, looks at water as one resource whether it is drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, etc.; thereby, bringing more value to water and ensuring its responsible and sustainable use.  This is perfectly aligned with Cobalt Water Global’s Total Water approach, which also views water as a multi-functional resource, and brings not only technical, but also social solutions for sustainable urban water management.  Therefore, through capacity building, awareness raising activities, and social events, the One Water for All initiative will bring individuals of all ages together to foster a global community of One Water thinkers and actors.

WaterULearning

For our first project, we engaged primary school students in NYC to enhance water literacy and harness the power of education to inspire One Water thinking. With the WaterULearning educational toolkit, developed by Cobalt Water Global and Melinda Alfano, New York City’s youth can be equipped to understand the value of water and what roles they can play in sustainable urban water management.  We are looking for partners to scale this in NYC and beyond, so please contact us if you are interested in joining the One Water for All initiative and helping to bring WaterULearning to more schools.
